MORE ABOUT ADVENTURES
Adventures provides an excellent standard of education combined with exciting adventures taught by creative, loving instructors to support Christian homeschool parents in their call to home educate their children, but our main priorities and convictions are centered around demonstrating to your child the love of Jesus, while continually sharing with them the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Imagine a place where the educational power of play is returned to the classroom. There is no arguing that students learn best through play and real experiences that allow them to explore and make connections, build background knowledge, and develop problem solving skills.
Imagine a classroom where children learn how to fail, so they can try again and find their way. Learning through adventure results in reduced stress and increased joy for both students and parents while preparing students with all their future ready skills. When children have fun learning, they will love to learn.
Research shows that play is not frivolous; it enhances brain structure and function and promotes executive function, which allow us to pursue goals and ignore distractions. It helps children learn to persevere, increase attention and navigate emotions.
Adventures is also a place where children explore relationships with others in order to develop a sense of empathy. It is a place where they master amicable and respectful dialogue with their peers. It is a place where they learn how to justify their own ideas and solve problems.
At Adventures all the curriculum and supplies are included. Our weekly adventure information in each subject area and the supplemental work for parents to "continue the Adventure at home" along with reading lists are all posted on our Google Classroom platform.
To complete your child's home-schooling curriculum, we recommend parents be working on a Math and language arts curriculum to match your students learning style and academic level.
HEED Adventurers uses Google Classrooms for parents to follow all of their student's Adventures and to see how to continue these adventures during the week at home through reading, activities and field trips. Reading lists and weekly syllabi are available for each Adventure.
Placements will be made based on student ages, availability, and special circumstances. For a full elementary curriculum parents are encouraged to be working through a math program and language arts program at home in addition to their child's HEED Adventure work. Suggestions and recommendations for these programs will be offered from the directors.
Adventures are held from 8:30-2:30 (2:20 for red and orange) on Thursdays at our NE Boca campus
